The Parallel Winery Story
Parallel is the story of our lives and friendships, which have unfolded for more than 20 years. The wine is a collaboration of 10 close friends, and our dedication to making great wine is reflected in a hands-on approach to crafting Parallel. Our circle of friendship, reflected in our company name Cab4Ten, now encompasses two special places: the mountains of Park City, Utah, where we met as young couples, and the hillside vineyards of Napa Valley. We love a challenge and relish the chance to get our hands dirty, so we are fully involved in every aspect of creating this wine. Itýs what makes Parallel so special to us.
Working with winemaker Philippe Melka, who recently was named Winemaker of the Year by Food & Wine magazine, and acclaimed vineyard manager Jim Barbour, we are proud to have created our inaugural vintage, the 2003 Parallel Napa Valley. A blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Merlot from Howell Mountain and Calistoga, its deep color exhibits a beautiful bouquet of black currants, blackberries, dried herbs, smoke, vanilla and Asian spices. The mouth feel is generous and packed with ripe flavors of rich cherry jam and black fruits. It finishes with dense tannin, wood and a wonderful licorice character. This wine is distinctive and reflects a sense of harmony and sophistication. The wine retails for $44 per 750 ml bottle, $22 per 375ml bottle, $150 for a hand-etched and wood-boxed magnum, and $300 for a hand-etched and wood-boxed double magnum.
