Exclusive Vertical Collection
In January 2023, we hosted a Retrospective Virtual Tasting with Winemaker Philippe Melka for our Wine Club Members where he tasted and shared his impressions of the 2017, 2018 and 2019 Parallel Napa Valley Cabernets. We are pleased to share this with you as well! You may view the tasting on our YouTube Channel.

"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon displays notes of prunes, spice cake, plum pudding and blueberry preserves with touches of red currant jelly, dried herbs, tobacco and olives. Full-bodied, firm and chewy and with tons of fruit at the core, it finishes long and spicy."

"The 2018 Cabernet Sauivgon has a deep garnet-purple color and intense notes of crushed black currants, black cherries and mulberries with nuances of Baker's Chocolate, licorice, cedar chest and pencil with a waft of wild sage."

"Parallel Napa Valley (named after the parallel course that their lives took and an homage to skiing, which the couples also loved) makes distinctive small lot Cabernets from vineyards in the heart of the valley—Oakville and Rutherford. This Cabernet—their “regular” one, not the reserve—is juicy, lively, complex, sleek, and intense. The texture is all silk and velvet. 2019 was a top vintage for many Napa wines—as you’ll see if you lay in a bottle or two of this gem. And while the wine is not inexpensive, we think it delivers more than a slew of other Cabernets that cost nearly twice as much."

In order to ensure the best experience with our wines, please store them in a cool, dark, dry place; Cabernets ideally at 55-60F and Chardonnays at 40-50F. When opening, these wines may require decanting, especially if they are vintages 2003-2011. Please allow 30-120 minutes of decanting before enoying (the older the wine the longer it may take).
