"Despite drought conditions and lower yields during the growing year, the 2021 Black Diamond Reserve 'Monument' offers a delicate, sweet nose of fresh violet, rose and molasses. Its stunning boysenberry hues are followed by bright, clean acidity and more lush tannins than should be expected from this stressed vintage. Layers of dark plum, sweet French Oak, black currant and fig complement the hints of leather, anise and cedar. The resulting well-balanced structure provides opportunity to enjoy now with classic age-ability over the next 15+ years."
